Jo left
Chepstow to go to the University of Exeter, where she majored in French and
Classical, after spending a year career in Paris. Once called, she moved to
London where she worked as a researcher for Amnesty International. She began
writing the Harry Potter for a delayed train journey from Manchester to King's
Cross station in London. Over the next five years she outlined the arguments of
each book and began writing the first novel.
She later moved to northern
Portugal, where she taught English as a foreign language. J. K. Rowling lives
in Edinburgh with her husband and three children.
